Richard Sump GmbH was set up in 1925 and has a proud record of 85 years reliable service. We combine tradition and experience with modern, creative management and supply the full range of food products to our customers throughout the world.

Our management structure guarantees quick decision making, with clear benefits for our business partners. We have an excellent mixture of experience and youth – this ideal combination is a sound basis to react rapidly to the ever changing needs of the markets we serve, without losing sight of our corporate objectives. For many years we have been enjoying the benefits of both inhouse and external training programmes.

In 2003 the company took a further step in setting the course for the future by taking over the activities of one of Europe's leading transit meat traders. Jürgen Stammer International Meat Supply with 45 years of experience is today the professional partner for meat and meat products for our customers.

The company's facility was built in 1997 and is centrally located in the freeport of Hamburg. The location in the free zone enables us to source products globally and to store the goods custom- and tax-free. Due to continuous growth the warehouse was extended in 2001.

In 2006 we opened an additional state-of-the-art cold store, with a capacity of more than 1.500 tons. The total warehouse space of 7.500 qm allows us to keep stock of more than 5.000 tons of refrigerated, frozen and nontemperature controlled food, permitting very short lead times for delivery by truck, in containers or by airfreight. We offer multi-temperature-shipments of 100 or more products per truck, groupage deliveries or bulk supply of just one product.

We understand our role as more than simply being a supplier of products. We see ourselves as our customer's partner, with responsibilities that include active international searches to secure the right product at the most competitive price, handling logistics and transportation. Our experienced customs department relieves our clients of the ever-increasing quantities of paperwork needed for customs and health clearance.

Our quality management system is certified on an annual basis and under permanent external control. Our IFS certification (higher level) ensures a consistently high food safety and quality standard of all consignments leaving our warehouse.
